   I’m going to do something silly here:I’m going to trust in the mAh capacity stated on the labels, which if true, gives you a little more time over the OEM batteries.The thing is, believing it is, like I said, a silly thing to do.Still, I couldn’t tell a difference either way between these batteries and the OEM batteries as far as battery life goes.The charger works great and charges them in parallel, as opposed to one after the other. There are pros/cons in both cases, but it’s not relevant for 95% of insta 360 X4 users.

   I bought a new Insta360 X4 bundle with one extra battery but *no* charger. The only way to charge was in the camera, one at a time. This is great. The charger is well made and the batteries physically match the originals closely. I tested the charging with a power meter and it does not use PD (the Insta one claims it does) but charges fairly efficiently at 5V/2A and charges all 3 in parallel. (In the picture the power meter is mine and the 3rd battery is an original from Insta.) A bonus is that the charger also matches the OEM and fits in the same spot in my case. Very happy with the batteries and charger. I will need to find out over time if the battery capacity matches but I expect it will since the weights for both OEM and these ones match exactly. (Battery capacity is proportional to how much material is in the battery. Weight won’t show bad cells or poor wiring but is the 1st thing to check.)I did get a warning from the camera that this was not a genuine battery but once past that, it seems to work OK.

   If you own an X4, you know how quickly the device heats up and drains the battery in continued shooting.These batteries perform about the same as the factory battery, but something I didn’t expect in buying one of these kits: Having any swappable battery helps cool your cam!As the device heats up, the battery heats up as well, and swapping out a warm battery with a cool one that takes up this much internal space can drop the temp of the device and keep me shooting at the higher resolutions and framerates for longer. A little unexpected bonus.
