Wow, start to finish, this just oozes quality. Start with the packaging, worthy of an iPhone. The charger itself has a soft feel on the surface (silicone coating?). The unit itself looks a bit like a camera, and the lid flips up to reveal the two charging bays and a storage slot for a spare SD card. The charging bays can be used for storage while the charger is unplugged. The lid is held closed with a soft magnetic hold.You will need to provide a source of power, i.e. a 5v charger (which you probably already have) or USB power sourced from a PC or powerbank. I don’t think I’d plug it into a laptop, unless the laptop was plugged in. It comes with a snug storage bag, a carry strap, and most importantly, a power cord USB-C to USB-C to attach to your charger (though you probably already have one of those).It’s got all kind of certifications, so the “manual” is printed in several languages. I say “manual” because it’s really not much more than a list of precautions. It doesn’t even list which batteries your particular charger is made for. I have no idea what the button that looks like either a power button or print reader (it seems to have a fingerprint icon on it) is supposed to do.I inserted my battery, which read 34% according to the display, and it was fully charged in less than 2 1/2 hours.The claim of being palm-sized is a bit of a stretch, unless you’re an NBA player. If you’re packing light for your hike up Kilimanjaro, you might want to find an alternative. Of course, you probably won’t find any power up there, anyway.I noticed a couple reviews said theirs came with batteries; mine did not. Perhaps that was an earlier option, but it appears not to be the case now. If you need batteries, you’ll need to find them somewhere else.I’m happy to replace the clunky charger that came with my Nikon D200 with this llano unit. This is the BMW of chargers compared to the Yugo-level chargers I have for other batteries. It’s a little pricey, but so is a BMW. You pay for quality.
