I either lost or misplaced the original years ago and have been stringing the camera along with odds and ends cables. I finally got tired of the pain and decided to order this as a replacement. It arrived quickly in packaging sufficient to protect it from poor handling and was still in plastic bags from OEM. It charged the old battery while in the camera, synced camera to my MacBook Pro [OSX]. Works perfectly! Cables fit firmly in all seating spots on both the brick [converter] and in the camera [microUSB port]. This kit does not come with a microHDMI but does include the wall socket to converter cable [US standard wall socket 110v two prong] and the USB to microUSB that works with both a regular USB port on a computer and as the second charging stage if attached to the converter. Converter notes ‘Olympus’ OEM manufacturing and cabling matches in color and quality to support OEM manufacturing source as claimed in advertising. Would highly recommend as a replacement or backup to OEM provided in box.

I had lost the charger that came with my Olympus XZ-1 and was having a hard time finding a replacement. People at camera stores and electronics stores just look at you like you’re stupid when you ask. Thank goodness the battery on the camera lasts a long time. This appears to be just like the one that I had, only with the benefit of a longer cable. This is a good thing, since the original cable was very short, making it hard to plug it in somewhere and lay the camera down safely. Having seen other reviews (complaints) I wasn’t sure exactly what I would be getting – a cable? no cable? would I be able to use it when it arrived? When I opened the box I found the black square box that plugs into the wall, a cable that connects my camera to that box and another cable that I can’t quite figure out. The end opposite the USB end doesn’t fit my camera, but perhaps it fits other Olympus cameras. I’ll stash it away in my box of useless cables that I have no idea what they go to just in case I need it.This is a great charger that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. And now I don’t have to start a box of useless cameras.
